It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a disappointing period because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was in motion.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.
